Day 4 Part 2

I scanned the auction house for the PM part of the gold run. I acquired almost 500 gold! I noticed that light leather sells pretty well on this server. I am having some competition with limited and unlimited items. I sent pets from Goldshire to my banker in Booty Bay since the auction house there is pretty barren. I picked up some recipes to resell on the Alliance side. I decided to get cooking recipes and resell the for a nice gain (up at 1 gold). I know it is small, but I rather have 1 gold coming end every hour than not. I will that for awhile till I start getting more income coming in.

Other than that, I really like not having Auctioneer, but I am missing out on some resell and vendor items. The Undermine Journal new "Great Deals" section is wonderful. It shows items that are listed below "market" value. I just love it because I found great deals at very cheap prices. I may like that option better than the resell option in Auctioneer when I comes back online.

Other than that, I am half-way to 1000g and it is day 4. I am proud of myself because I was worrying about making gold on this server since 1. there are more horde than alliance on this server, 2. limited and unlimited items are almost over populated with competition and low prices, 3. I did not make a Death Knight to help out (like I stated in previous posts, I am doing this with a new player in mind).

The only things I am selling are cheap priced items that are listed on the undermine journal "great deals", selling cooking recipes and other limited/unlimited items from Stormwind, Loch Modan, Darnassus, Ironforge, plus Theramore, and selling trade good items like linen cloth, light leather, ruin leather scraps, copper ore, copper bars, rough stone, wolf/bore meats. That's it.

I'm making a shaman (draeni) to level up. I have been pondering but I will try it out.

Day 4

Today is Day 4. This is what I’ve done so far:

•  Got Booty Bay banker to level 5
•  Booty Bay banker traveled to Theramore Isle, got designs and cooking recipes, sent to seller, and seller posted in auction house.
•  Booty bay banker traveled to Booty Bay, seller sent Stormwind cooking recipes to Booty Bay banker to post on the neutral auction house, and posted received recipes onto neutral auction house.
• Main seller acquired 300 gold!

Overall, it has been a nice day. Auctioneer and Market Watcher still do not work. However, I am running my auction house scans through Auctionator, jotting prices of items I am currently looking at, and using the undermine journal’s “current deals list” to purchase items that are way under the market value through the undermine journal’s perspective.

I will uninstall Auctioneer and Market Watcher until it works again. I like just using Auctionator and the Undermine Journal. Auctionator is quicker with scans and allows for quick posting and selling.

I am thinking about creating a new character because I would love to be an alchemist and a jewelcrafter. I can just think of the profits. However, I need to level up a character and am not sure what class to choose. I can choose a hunter since I do love the hunter class or I could choose a shaman. Not sure; will use the rest of the day to decide.

Day 3 Part 2

It's evening time and I'm not feeling well. However, I did get to lo-gin to see if anything at all sold. My copper bars, linen cloth, and light leather sold! I ended with around 130 gold. I then started to look at unlimited vendor items.

Let me tell you, almost all the unlimited and limited items, plus pets from Stormwind, Darnassus, Ironforge, and Exodar (not so much, only a few) are up on the auction house with 4-6 competitors and the prices for the items posted were under 10 gold! How the heck am I suppose to get myself seed money from 8-9 gold auctions. There's no guarantee that these items will sell if I posted them. I manage to find a good supply of limited vendor items in Exodar that weren't listed in the auction house. I have the Auctionator shopping list for the limited and unlimited items in each city. So, I check them before I buy the item. Exodar was the only city in the alliance that had items that weren't all listed on the auction house. I sent 30 gold to my Exodar runner to buy as much as she could and sent them to my seller.

I looked at the prices that the vendor items are being posted on by the people on the server that I am playing on and am surprised that they do not see that these items can go for 3-5 times as much. For example, the comfortable insoles recipe, the item in Exodar that did have competition and I did not purchase because of that, was up for 23 gold. I usually sell that item considerably and consistently for 75-80 gold each.

I found the clam chowder recipe in Westfall was listed at a high price and only had 2 competitors, so I took the risk and bought one and posted it.

I understand that the server that I am on is new to me, so I am learning the ins and outs of the server. I am trying to see what is of value. I do know that copper bars sell nicely. So, I may gather more copper tomorrow, if I am feeling better, to post. I also see that light leather sold wonderfully (89 gold for a stack of 20!). Herbs, I did not get herbalism for this fact, is really bad. 4 silver for a stack of 20! Don't tell me to buy them out, not when there is 50-70 peaceblooms listed just above it.

I am still contemplating if I should level up a character. I do not know yet. I think it may do me some good to do so. For example, power level a character to level 85 with gathering professions, then drop one and pick up a crafting profession.

Anyhow, the Auctioneer and Market Watcher add-on are still broken. I am still able to write down prices that I am watching....thank goodness I been jotting the information down instead of depending on the add-ons. However, I am unable to do the resell and vendor searches. I do know that the undermine journal has a new feature that selects items that are under-priced and lists them. All you have to do is buy them out and resell them for the median or higher price than what is provided. HOWEVER, the website is down. I haven't checked again tonight. I will wait till tomorrow to do that.

Day 3

Well, today is patch 4.3 day. All the add-ons pretty much did not work. Auctionator had an update so I was able to scan through that. However, I was not able to scan Market Watcher and Auctioneer because it was broken. I was not even able to upload the undermine journal information because the site is down.

I was able to jot down the price ranges for the watched items the old fashion way. I was able to level my main banker to level 12. It was fun because I pretty much played through my skills instead of using much spells since I did not have the funds to purchase any hunter skills. It was fun downing enemies with just arcane and explosive shot.

I posted many items particularly copper bars, low level gems, light leather, clam meat, murloc fins, ruined leather scraps, and linen cloth. I have around 1000g worth of items up on the auction house currently. The only concern that I have is if none of them sale, I need to quest to get more funds to re-post those expired items.

So far, this server seems pretty slow. I believe it is an East Coast server. However, I am not getting any sells like I want. It is only Day 3 so I know that it will take time. I will be patient. I have 6 more days to get to the required acquired amount of 1000.

I still will not make a Death Knight. Like I stated previous, I am doing this in mind for a brand new player starting WoW and not able to make a DK. Plus, it is time that I rather not invest in.

I am tempted to make another hunter or a shaman to just level up and of course, help with the gold making. However, I am at an impass, I really wasn't expecting myself to level up a character till I have at least 10,000 gold on hand and acquired 25-30K total.

I am still thinking about it, we will see, especially when things are going pretty slow for me right now.

Day 2

Today, I sent my runners (Darnassus, Ironforge, Exodar, Stormwind) to their cities. I scanned on the Horde side. I leveled my Exodar runner to level 5 to get the quest to get the recipe. I managed to send 9 silver plus some items to my banker in Stormwind. I leveled my banker to level 5 to get some silver. I purchases a couple of items, went to SW, scanned and posted them on the auction house.

Later on tonight, I logged into my horde and alliance bankers and scanned. I heard that the new patch is coming out tomorrow. I wished I had some gold to buy items to stock up. Oh well.

Several of my items where undercutted, so I repost them. I am concerned that everything will be undercut and I would run out of money to repost. I'll figure out something.

Anyway, that is it for my report. I will have to scan tomorrow after 11 am PST when the patch as gone through.

Day 1

I mark Sunday, 11/27/2011, as Day 1 for me in this gold speed run.

I selected my server. I am going to go for the single-faction run. I will be on the alliance side. I created characters but have not logged into them yet. All the add-ons needed are already installed. I have my total  acquired spreadsheet saved with formulas.

I'm ready to go.

New Start

Hello, I am starting the Gold Speed Run that is run by Johnathan Kenins from Massive Gold Blueprint (http://www.massivewowgold.com). I originally started this two weeks earlier before the run began. However, the website was not updated like I thought it would be. So, I decided it was best to start over again. I am not in the race, but I am following along with everyone.

My goal in doing this program is to acquire 25,000 gold on a server that I have not played on before using the massive gold blueprint methods.  The server that I was on before I decided to start over, I earned 25K before.  I want to start anew with the information since I found the methods confusing.

There is a website (http://www.goldspeedrun.com) that you go on each day to watch videos and learn new things regarding making gold. Starting later will ensure that I will see each day completed on the website. (It was one of my pet peeves when I started initially since the website was not updated daily since the run did not start yet.)

So, what I am thinking about doing with the format of this blog site is to post something everyday no matter how small. I would give my results at the end of each week. This gold speed run lasts 30 days, with the first week lasting 9 days. I will not provide my characters' name nor what server I will be on for privacy until I end my run.

What am I going to do with the gold that I will make after this run is over? I don't know, maybe give it to a random person or just start a new character on this server since I do have a main server that I play on with all level 85s. Each of these characters have maxed professions. I have made close to 100,000 or more on them total.  But, I want to start over and see how I can do now without those characters; starting from level 1.

This time around with beginning this run I will not make a Death Knight. In the previous solo run, I made one and it help tremendously. However, in a way it took away the personal achievement and satisfaction  from beginning from the ground up. Besides, what if a person starts World of Warcraft from the very beginning and does not  have a level 55 character to unlock the option to make a death knight. What then? That is why I am doing this. If anything happens to my account and cannot use it, what happens then? These questions are in my head and I decided to do this without the extra help of creating a death knight.

I already chosen the server that I have not played on before. Also, no one else in the current gold speed run is on this server, so all the better.  I will create 6 characters. One alliance character in Stormwind who will be the seller and the character that I will level up to 5 or 10 (I will be doing a single faction gold run). I then will make a horde alt that will just scan each day so I can compare the prices of the factions. I will set up a neutral banker in Booty Bay that will be selling alliance only items like pets and cooking recipes. I will set up one character in each main city (Ironforge, Darnassus, Exodar) to gather limited vendor items and pets to send to my seller to post on the auction house. I just want one seller this time. In the previous run, each character sold something. I found it complex; like I said I want this to be simple and straightforward since it is advised to spend only one hour per day doing this program. ( I wasn't doing this in the previous speed run.)

I will begin tomorrow since I have to get up early. You have to scan twice daily throughout the run. So, this will be good.

I believe day one, I just choose the server and get all add-ons added. I've done that already. I will create my characters. I will only start my alliance banker and get her to level 5 with so coins in my pocket to start purchasing cheap items to sell.
