Day 30 - The End

I've done it. It is day 30 and I am very happy to be done.

Total gold acquired: 47,426.6094

What I've learned:

  • Patience is key. If you don't have it, get it now because it will make you successful regardless if you do have and practice patience or it will break you if you do not develop and practice it. While I got impatient sometimes, I made myself become patient and I have been successful.
  • It is good to observe items to see the full range of prices and to know if you see an item listed below the range you have been seeing, to buy it to resell it.
  • It is a good practice to test items by posting on the auction house. Many pipelines that I found were through the resell search from the add-on Auctioneer. After scanning a min. of three days, perform a resale sale. However, do not buy everything you see listed. Use your noggin and search the auction house of that item to see  the cheap item isn't low by several copper or gold. If it is more than several gold, buy it, and re-post for higher than you buy it.
  • I use the three day limit. If an item does not sell after posting it three times, I will lower the price considerably because it is apparent that the price is either to high or the demand is not there. After three more days and no sales,  I will lower the price once again just above the vendor price to get rid of it. If no opportunities present itself, then I will vendor it.
  • Be flexible. What you think is the real price (which there isn't a real price; it's only what the players are willing to pay) may not be. Sometimes an item may be worth 20 gold but players just do not want to buy it at 20 gold. Sell it for the price that it sells. Inch the price up gradually, but once you hit that wall, don't push. In the future the demand for that item may change and increase, but wait it out and be patient.
  • Make a commitment to do this and act. Know what you want to do, why you want to do and just do it. Action is key.
  • Read about other people who are doing the same thing or similar to what you are doing. It is good to have a role model to help you with new ideas.
  • BACKUP YOU AUCTION HOUSE DATA!!!!
  • Join gold making forums and read, read, read. (The Consortium WoW Gold Forum is very good for information and the Massive Gold Blueprint forum is good too)
  • Stay positive. See every shortcoming as an opportunity to learn to do better. There is nothing wrong with making mistakes. It is the only way for us to learn. Learn from the mistakes from other people also.
  • Research items. Know what they are used for. See if you can use the items to make something else that may be more in demand that the original item.
  • Join TUJ (The Undermine Journal) website. Open an account, learn how to use the site, and use it for your advantage.
  • Know your competitors. Once you have your pipelines, know other competitors, when they get on and post their items. Know their patterns. Add them to your friend's list. You can even chat with them if you want, but be respectful to them.
  • Also look into joining WoW Auctions. It is a similar website like The Undermine Journal. Know it, use it.
  • Most importantly, have fun. If you are not having fun making gold with playing the auction house, do something else. Put you own swing to it. Create your own way to making gold. Just make sure it is within the rules of Blizzard. No buying gold! It is against the rules and it does not cost anything in making gold in the game. Why not do it the right way instead of the wrong with the risk getting your account banned.
My thoughts:
  • I enjoyed myself overall
  • I am proud that I stuck to the blog day after day
  • I stuck with the program and that is an achievement itself.
  • I am glad there was a website for this gold speed run. Even though it was not complete, the information (the foundation) is given to you in week 1. Week 2 gets more into detail into what you were doing in week one. Week 3 gets even deeper into what week 1 is talking about. I don't know what is in week 4 since that week is closed off, but I am sure it probably other details to use while working to auction house. It disappointed me that the site was not properly setup. I am sure that the creator will do a better job next time. But, I do not think the program is a scam. It helps you to really understand the goings of the auction house. It does cost some money to get into the program but it was worth it to me. All the information you need is in week one. That's it.
  • For the server I was in, it was low population and I am glad that I did get on it. My main server is much healthier and I got every crafting profession on my characters. I am sure that I will be able to make what I made on the testing server on my main server very easy.
  • Thank you those who read each and everyday. I received no comments and I was not looking for them but I know some have been reading. I hope I helped in some way. Thank you all and bye.

Day 29

Total gold acquired: 44,866.2951

Hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed Christmas!

Saturday, December 24, 2011

Day 28

Total gold acquired: 44,087.4083

What was done today:

  • gave most of my gold on hand, so far was, 21,000, to my sons
  • Tomorrow and Monday, I will give the rest of the gold on hand to my sons
  • selling items a very cheap prices; hope people pick them up so I don't have to vendor them Monday
  • got my banker ready for finding pipelines on my main server
  • re-opened second wow account to add my banker to my guild on  main server; it will only be opened for a month
The server that I was doing the solo gold speed run on is called Durotan-Alliance side. It is very low population server (as accepting new players when I got on it). I managed to make gold on it; which surprised me. I managed to find some pipelines which were light leather, purple lotus for example. Just be aware that if you want to do a speed run on this server, that the vendor items are not the way to go. Beware of the players named Bukii, Bukkii, and Bukie. The person who play these characters put vendor items up for very low (under 10 gold). I don't know why, because some vendor items that I managed to sell while this person was also in it, ended up selling for higher than 50 gold and even over 100 gold. So, you can sell vendor items on this server, you just have to wait it out when this person's auctions expired.

Other than that, it was a good run. I made a lot without the assistance of professions. So, if I can make these numbers on my main server; which has a much healthier economy, then I would not need to rely on my crafting professions as much.

Day 27

There was a power outage yesterday that lasted pretty much till this morning. That was the reason for no posting.

Total gold acquired: 43,659.5274

Three more days left (actually 2, since it is day 28). I'm only posting through Auctionator now to get the gold right away before the end of this run.

I will post later today for Day 28.

Day 26

Total gold acquired: 40,369.1466

Met my second personal goal of 40K!!

What was done today:

  • Stop scanning on server, posted all my guild bank items through Auctionator, re-posted expired items through Auctionator also.
  • Took all gold out of guild bank (almost 20K) and disbanded guild. Getting ready to give gold to my two sons so they can have all the fun they want with it.
  • 4 more days left!

Wednesday, December 21, 2011

Day 25

Total acquired gold: 39,674.6345 gold

So close to 40K!

What was done today:

  • Deleted my Booty Bay banker due to hardly no sales; send left over gold to main banker
  • All of my alts are deleted; only have my banker on this server
  • Decided to only scan one time a day from now to the end of this run
  • Try to sell all my items in my guild; maybe. If it's too much for me to do so, then they will be deleted when I get rid of the guild.

Tuesday, December 20, 2011

Day 24

Total acquired gold: 38,922.4351 gold.

1,077.57 gold away from a new goal of 40K.

Done today:

  • Scanned, re-post
  • Played on main server

Monday, December 19, 2011

Day 23

Total gold acquired: 37,640.7633

What was done today:

  • The same routine in the morning and evening; not buying anything else, just re-posting stuff; still making gold
  • Played on my main server; applying pipeline ideas; leveling my rogue; joined a guild; having fun
I really can't wait till this run is over. I am ready for it to be over. I could probably end it right now, but I stated I will stick it out for 30 days and I will. Seven more days left!

Sunday, December 18, 2011

Day 22

Total acquired: 35,287.3764 gold.

Done today: Scanned x2 and re-posted expired.

I probably will not buy anything else and just sell off my supply. I've decided to give the gold that I have to my kids; they want to just play around with. I'm fine with that.

I was on my main server mostly today. I posted some items that I can craft (I have all professions maxed) and I made 5,000 gold overall today in a few hours. I made a rogue and decided to do a battleground. I never done so before. I was fun as heck. I wondered why I never tried before (I was scared).

I also started to work on researching pipelines on my main server. I wrote down how I would go by doing so and started researching some items. If I can get that much gold on a server where I don't have mains on, image how much gold I can get on a server that is actually healthy.  I really missed my server; I can't wait till this gold run is over for me. 7 more days left!

Other than that, I'm will stay with it to the end. I got 35K acquired, 5K more and I hit 40K. I will try to get that if I can.

Alright, got stuff to do before bedtime. Goodnight!

Saturday, December 17, 2011

Day 21

Total Gold Acquired: 33,159.5603 gold.

Let's see if I can make it to 40k by the end of the 8 days left!

Nothing done today. I logged in this morning, scanned, done a resale search, purchased some items, re-post expired items, posted the new items I purchased, learned a new glyph, made two each of the new glyph, posted that, scanned Market Watcher, scanned the horde side, and log out.

I did this again at night, instead I just scanned, got my winnings and the few expired items I had, re-posted them, scanned Market Watcher, and logged out.

Like I stated before, this is all I will be doing till the end of the run.

I'm still wondering what I will do with all of this gold on had that I have. I currently have 11,556g 92s 22c on hand. I will have to say that this is the most gold that I remembered having so quickly (3 1/2 weeks long) out of my WoW playing career. I got this much within 2-3 days just putting glyphs up on my hunter on my home server. However, on this server, I do not have a team of alts with professions. Granted, I have my level 12 banker who is an inscriptionist, but I did not purchase any of the glyphs to learn. I just do the research and make what I learn from that.

On my death knight, I kept her at 58, which I am now very happy I did. One reason I did this is because the Outlands vendor items were posted very cheap on the auction house with medium to high competition. It was not worth me investing more time into going into that area. I learned enchanting on her. Looking back, it was okay to do this, however I see that I did not have to do this. I did not have to do this because only a few scrolls sold and I maybe have had better opportunities to just searched for low priced scrolls on the auction house, purchased them and re-posted them for higher prices. I see that would have been the best route instead of investing time and gold into this plan for the DK. I do not regret doing this, but now know that I learned a great deal. I see now, that I did not need to make a death knight at all, nor invest in learning a crafting profession. I got the gold back, tripled, that was not the point. The point is that now I see that I could have done it without the help of leveling up characters to provide gold making opportunities. Yes, it would have, but it is not required. I see that I could have save a lot of time, not making the shaman nor the death knight and concentrated on looking into other markets that I overlooked and researched more into pipelines. I found a nice handful of pipelines for the first time ever since purchasing Massive Gold Blueprint (almost a year now).

On my shaman, I leveled her to 47, but stopped. I was intending to level her to 85, but I got busy and the amount of time that it would've taken me to get to that point would've been over the time of this 30 day speed run. I learned jewel crafting on her with the idea I was going to level 85, but I stopped. My displeasure with the server in regards to guild recruitment and my desire went out of the window, I just gave up on that plan. Granted, prospecting ore helped a good deal. Some of the pipelines I found where from that. Again, it would have save me a considerable amount of time to just looked into the gem market, purchased the cheap, re-post for market or high. I found out that I did not need to make a leveling character at all to make gold. Yes, it helps a lot, but it is not required.

Again, I do not know what to do about the gold that I have. The guild that I have, I'm am unable to transfer because it is not level 2 or 5 ( I forgot the level requirement). I could level my shaman or another character to 71, but I really do not have any interest with that. The idea just makes me cringe with pain. I don't know, maybe give it away to a nice lucky player at level 10. I can say, "Hello, happy new year, here is 15,000 gold for you!!!" Maybe, I would do that. I don't need it since I will probably go back to my server once this thing is over (if I am still playing since I will be going to SWTOR). I'll think more about it.

Goodnight all.

SWTOR

I got money for my birthday and I was thinking about purchasing Star Wars: The Old Republic. If you know me, you and my mother would know I am a huge Star Wars fan. I played in the beta, so did my husband and children and we all loved it.

Since the game is opening/coming out in a few days, I thought it would be a great present to buy the game. As I was talking to my husband, he said don't do it; he is going to get the collectors edition for me on Christmas!

Big Smiles!!

So, what does this mean for my time with WoW? I have the year membership, so my account will be active. Will I be playing it? Not really. I will be playing SWTOR, Diablo III (since I will be getting it free), waiting for Guild Wars 2, all of this on top of my other responsibilities.

I will finish this 30 day gold speed run. I may even do another one, but I will not actively play WoW for awhile.

What would be a great thing is to make gold in SWTOR by using the principles I learned while playing WoW.

May the force be with you!

Day 20

10 more days left!

Total acquired: 32,128.9658 gold

What was done today:

  • The usual two scans today
  • Since it was my birthday, just scanned and relaxed
  • I did not cancel any auctions as I said I wasn't going to do anymore now. I did post some auction a little bit lower than the competition, but I was not posting items at a lost (in the blue or green as stated by auctioneer) - FYI: I use an add-on that shows the average price of item SOLD, not posted. So, I have auctioneer use this pipeline add-on instead of its own data. I can make better decision on if I choose to lower my price or not. But, if people are posting their prices in the blue or green, I'm still posting mine at market price. Do not buy into the hype of selling your items at the lowest price in order to get a sell.
  • Like I stated previously, it was my birthday so I just logged in to scan, found some quick deals with the resale search, re-post any expired items and posted the new items purchased. This is likely to be my setup for the rest of this run since the Gold Speed Run website is still not showing week 3 and 4 information and I do not know what else to do other than what I have been doing. It is disappointing when a product does not deliver what it promises. That is life; accept it and move on. I am happy that I did not spend money on the gold speed run membership, I would have been very upset like some people who are currently in the gold speed run. Tomorrow is day 30 for them, so two weeks without information; I think they should be refunded with at least half of their money back. I am not saying the program itself is bad, quite the opposite, however many of these people paid for a 30 day service (provided with information every single day), they weren't. They have other tools also, but they paid for a whole service that was not provided for them. It is like I paid for a whole pie and I received 75% of it and was told to deal with it...Anyway, I'm moving on.
  • Overall so far, I am pleased with how things gone. I like how I made a good amount of gold without a team of alts with all of the professions. However, I would've been happier without the use of professions at all. Maybe I should do this again on another server without the use of a death knight, a leveling character, and not pick up any professions (of course, the initial setup of getting gathering professions to provide seed money, then after that not using it anymore). I put in time, however disappointed with the time I put in. Less would have been better.
  • I'm thinking about what I want to do with the left over gold I will have left after this thing is over. It is likely I will probably leave it to let my kids have to play with. I doubt that I want to stay on this server. It is pretty dead and the lack of active guilds are great. I would play my shaman after this is over, but I put in requests to join guilds and nothing received from them. Plus, I watch trade channel for any guild recruitment because I really want to grow with a guild and do dungeons and eventually raid. Nothing. I was also thinking about maybe leveling my shaman or another character to level 71 (level where you can transfer your character with more than 10K gold which I will probably have by the end of this thing). And, then deleting my bankers say adios to this server forever. This is a good option because I don't like leaving behind gold on other servers...
Other than all of this, I'm going to head to bed and watch some tv. While I got a few more hours left of my birthday, I want it to end peacefully. Good night all.

Day 19

Total Gold Acquired from all characters as of 6:10 PM PST: 29,499.7254 gold.

What was done today:

  • Scanned, re-posted expired items
  • Decided not to undercut my existing and all future items I post on the auction house anymore, instead I will allow items to run its full duration and expired. Less time spent on items is wonderful. It is a great tip. I would suggest this road because not eye-balling the auction house every minutes relieves stress and time for you to do other things. I also suggest that if you really are concerned about an item or items selling, post your auctions for 12 hours and do not worry about. 12 hour duration for quick selling items and when you are getting started with auction house activities for the first time. 24 hours duration for all other items. 48 hour duration for items that take a long time to sell.
  • Decided to not level my shaman anymore while on my 30 day gold making program because I want to focus on just the auction house. I realize now that leveling up a character requires time that I refuse to give right now. I have responsibilities outside of the game that have higher priority than this game. Therefore, dedicating one hour or two hours a day for the auction house is ideal and preferred. I am getting to this point right now for myself, especially with the holidays arriving soon and important events happening for me from now till the end of January. For the past two days, my auction house time has been cut short dramatically, mainly because I decided not to undercut my auctions anymore. I noticed that my items that have been undercut, eventually sold for the price that I set it at. So, it may take time (and this is where patience comes in) but the item will sale. A key component to auction house selling is being patient and flexible. Allow other lower priced auctions to sell. Buyers will eventually get to yours; do not worry.
  • Almost got 10K in my guild bank again. Yesterday, I invested almost 3K (had 9K in bank at the time) to level enchanting on my death knight character. I pretty much  made the amount back with one day! Sweet!

Day 18

Total Acquired: to be announced after playtime tonight = 28,330.8228 gold *update

What was done today:

  • Leveled DK enchanting to 300!
  • Made fiery weapon enchants and posted them on the auction house
  • Made other enchants just to level up enchanting, however realized that the amount of gold they are going for (based upon other competitors) are in the hundreds of gold! Wow!
  • I saw a WoW Blogger superstar. I recognized the name because I sometimes read his/her blog. I kept looking at the character till I just Google it. I found out that it is the person/character of a popular PVP blog! I read the about page for this person and rightfully so, this character is the same one I was looking at! It was amazing! (I won't post the character's name because it will give away what server I'm on...I will reveal the server when the 30 days are up)
  • I decided to not do much undercutting anymore because majority of the auction house items are items that I've sold multiple times at a certain price. I just figure they will sale eventually after all the cheap ones are bought out. Also, I will remain flexible because sometimes items just don't sell in the quantity that they once did and sometimes they go for much higher than previously listed or much lower. I am still observing these items, but making a conscious choice if I wish to undercut or not.
  • It is very important: Do not lower your price of an item when you know for a fact that it can be bought for a certain range of prices. You do not need to be the fastest buyer or the lowest item on the auction house! Trust me, people will buy out the cheap ones and buy yours which should be much higher than the competition listed it for (don't have the price outrageous either). I have seen it many times yesterday when I just gave up having to undercut people because they will undercut you in a second. Found out that sticking to my guns, I ended up selling a good portion of items that I did not lower the price on because there were many lower priced items listed under mine. Patience is gold, no it's platinum!
  • Also, do not be in a rush to be the lowest item listed!!! It creates so much stress. I noticed that I have been stressed lately and it is due to the fact that I allowed people who have undercut me to get under my skin. At this point of things, I know eventually my items will sell sooner or later. They always do. I cannot watch my items 24/7 and I don't want to, I got other things I want to do.  There is nothing to worry about. Life is too short to get anal about every little detail. I post my items now when they expire and when I re-post I see if I will continue to sell it at the price I've always have, increase the price, or lower it. I may even increase or decrease the quantity of the items I post or change the stack sizes of them. That is it. I will continue to look for new deals, I will post them base on the information and research that I get and make a judgement call on the price. If it is wrong (which nothing is because everything is a learning opportunity and there is nothing wrong with that!!!) then I will change it. I have been so stressed that my items have not been selling as fast anymore and my fun level decreased (mind you, I still am making 1,000 or more gold a day...lol). I decided today that I do not need to undercut all the time.
  • SO...if the item that you post does not sell, re-post it
    • if it continues to not sell after 3 tries, lower the price, quantity, stack size
    • if it continues to not sell after 3 more tries, just lower it a little bit more
    • if it continues to not sell after that, just keep posting (or put it in your bank)...it will sell eventually....and you should be looking at other items instead of worrying about this one thing selling!!
    • If all fails, just vendor it...it's still gold, silver or copper that you are getting...it funds, something that will move you closer to your goals...appreciate what you receive no matter how small it is!!!

Day 17

Quick post for today:

Acquired my personal goal of 25K! I have total acquired: 25299.2565 gold!

What I did today:  Since for week 3 training, we have to focus of moving our operations to higher level items. That means focusing on higher level recipes, trade goods, etc. I would have to either have a death knight, or leveled a character, or enlist a high level character to help me. Since I created a death knight already, I got her maxed on mining today; 300 almost, but I am a master miner. I send all gathered to my shaman to power level jewelcrafting. I am 310/310 on my shaman. I sent a small amount of all that I created to my banker to list on the auction house today. Tomorrow, I need to power level enchanting on my death knight. I have stored over 9000 gold in the guild bank. So, I probably use around 1000g to power level her to 300. I will focus on the weapon enchants to make and sell on my banker.  After that, I will level my shaman. I was hoping that I could level her to 85 by the end of this week, but that isn't happening (I don't think). So, I am hoping to have her near level cap before this 30 day program is complete. I will still make items via jewel crafting and have my banker post them on the auction house.

Okay, I got this post in before midnight. I've been busy all day.

Thanks for reading, goodnight!

Monday, December 12, 2011

Day 16

Quick post for today:

  • Acquired total of 23,848.8779 gold.
  • Did not meet my personal goal of 25K today, but likely by the end of week 3
  • Finally getting low level items gone from auction house, even if I had to sell for a loss, it's gone and so is the stress.
  • Started gathering ore for my shaman
  • Used precise pricing on items which means that using tradeskillmaster add-on isn't much of a help (besides the creator states not to use automatic posting add-ons because it places you at a disadvantage of being depended on the competition instead of dependent on the research that you proven to have worked (selling items at a particular price consecutively)), with the exception of very fast moving items like gem cuts and glyphs (I'll be getting there soon, hopefully with my shaman who will be a jewelcrafter and will be getting to level 85 to make those expensive gem cuts, hopefully...)
  • A slow day once again, and that is fine, I was able to get other things done for once. I think that doing mainly more auction house stuff does give you more opportunities to gain more gold. However, I supposed to be doing this for an hour a day...things will get better regarding time since it takes me almost 2  hours or more to do everything on the auction house.
  • The Gold Speed Run website is not providing days for training. It has been down for many people. I start week 3 tomorrow and only one day show. I suppose I have the knowledge that I need to continue with the 30 day gold making program, however I wanted a day by day training that I was promised and depend upon, especially when I need to start reaching for higher priced items to start trading with. I need that help and it isn't offered.

Anyway, I need to rest. I'm very tired. Goodnight and thank you for reading.

Sunday, December 11, 2011

Day 15

I have total acquired: 22,453.5926 gold. I am 2,546.4074 gold away from achieving my personal goal of 25K acquired.

I think I finally got a routine going for my banker. I'll keep testing it out for the rest of the run.

Nothing happened today, I only made 1,844.893 gold in sales today. I think my sales were low because players posting many items for cheap just to make a sale.

I want to try to make the 2,600 in gold tomorrow since it will be the last day for week 2. Other than that, I did not level my shaman, probably this week. I may level my death knight tonight so I can gather this week, also.

It was a restful and quiet day.

Thank you for reading. Bye!

Saturday, December 10, 2011

Day 14

I have total acquired 20,608.7 gold. I am 4,391.3032 gold away from my personal goal of 25k gold acquired.

I did not do much today, due to life. So, I scanned this morning and evening, decided to just sell pets on my Ironforge banker, to sell only high profit vendor items (items that I can get list for at least 20 gold and higher) on my Exodar banker. I deleted my SW banker/runner and my Darnassus banker. I made the decision to not invest in items that are not providing me with high  profits. Which mean on this server, it is unlimited and limited vendor items. I am trying to stay with some of the vendor items that I am getting some type of high profit from for the time being.

I am getting more profit from my main banker than the others. I might just delete the other bankers due to the ridiculous competition. For example, there are a group of bankers (and they may be from the same person because they share similar names, just spelled differently) price all vendor items (unlimited and limited) below 10 gold.

I would suggest, if you are in the same situation as me, to just vendor the items and move on. I am trying to get what I can get from them. But, I think it may be better to let go. The stress isn't needed. I just get pissed that someone refuses to change and see that they can get more gold from a few items with high prices than posting 20 low priced items. At the end week 2 (Tuesday or Monday for me) I will drop the vendor items permanently. Or at least when this person move on from the server. LOL!

Some people just don't know. I can't wait till I can actually leave behind all of these vendor items and move to better things. I have mostly trade good items which is great because that seller posts mainly vendor unlimited and limited items, plus epic crafted items.

I have that type of personality if someone is doing something wrong or something that is hindering them, I want to help him/her change. But, you can't change people unless they want to change themselves. In this case, I have to let go and forget about this person who refuses to see that his/her posting of low price items totally destroyed the vendor limited/unlimited markets for everyone else who is trying to make some gold consistently.

Anyway, I am heading to bed or sit up and watch some anime for awhile. Goodnight!

Day 13

Today for day 13, we are suppose to expand our inventory. This is just in time because my bags were getting very full to the point that I was going to use my runners for storage.

However, someone was selling their 4 tab guild bank guild for 1200 gold. I offer 1500 gold and he was sold. I bought it, can't believe this is opportunity came at the right time. Now, I have room!

Today, I also decided to stop selling limited/unlimited vendor items on my main banker. I enlisted my runners as bankers for their respected cities that they are located. Now, I have bankers in each capital for the alliance.

I also decided to relocate my main banker to Dalaran. Since I had a runner now banker in Stormwind, it was time to move to higher ground where I could purchase more expensive vendor items to sell. I asked around in trade chat, someone offered to send me there free. I was going to give him 25 gold but he didn't want it. It made me realize that there are some good people in the game.

I'm in Dalaran now and looking cute with my pink tabard and green winter clothes on!

The weekend is coming which means it is time to stock up. With more room, I can get busy with that. I just need to get over the worry that I won't make any sells. Today's overall total acquired on all bankers is 16102.83 gold. Looks like I'm still making a good amount.

I am deciding to make a death knight. The reasoning behind this is I am assuming that a beginner is leveling up their character and is now near level 50 to 55 which is the level needed to make a death knight (if you have the Lich King expansion). So, I think it is time to make one.

What I am planning to do is level up mining to 300 on her. Send all the materials received to my leveling character for jewel crafting. I will also pick up enchanting on my DK to disenchant all the items that I will make on my shaman. I will unlearn skinning on my shaman once I hit level 60. I will keep mining, of course. I will be planning on having my death knight in the Outlands to pick up the recipes there. Which will then turn the DK into another banker. LOL. I just have a team of bankers. Thank goodness I have a leveling character and one more character slot.

I was also thinking about leveling my mage banker to 22 or 24, the level to receive all of the portals of the major capitals. That way, it will free up character slots on this server just in case I want to actually start building a network of characters on here.

I am 8897.173 gold away from the gold that I wanted for myself at the start of this gold speed run, which is to acquire 25K gold. I think I can do it by the end of week 3. Gold making may boast once I get my leveling character to 85 and having jewel crafting.

I am planning on leveling her to level 85. I am still at level 46. I was intending to level her to 55 today, but life happens. :)

I will level her tomorrow since I will not need to get ready in the morning for my children. Thank you weekends!

Anyway, that is all for this time. A lot happened today which was very productive. Now, I hope the website can work because it am getting closer to the days where the pages are not working well. I have no idea what is going on as I send in three tickets and I have not received an email from them. Something is up and other people in the Gold Speed Run are going frustrated by the lack of response from the creator of the program. I have enough to go off of to do the whole thing now, but this is the first time I am actually being giving detail instructions and I want these to help  me learn. Not having the information is going to be very upsetting.

Anyway, I'm logging out. Thank you for reading.

Ooooo..

I was looking over my own posts, I made this blog primary for a personal journal to track my own progress of the gold speed run for myself and if people read it, it is okay, I noticed that I am making a lot of gold per day.

Like today I am at 12,938g 20s 92c....well, no...hold on. I've made a mistake. I actually have acquired total from all my characters (my main banker, neutral house banker, and leveling character) 13,520 gold 27 silver.

I keep forgetting to include the other two characters acquired total amounts to the overall total. LoL.

Anyway, It appears that I am almost making 3k a day! I never noticed that. I just put up the amount I have and keep going. I am very proud of myself and what I am accomplishing. Even without a leveling character and a neutral house banker, I am still doing very well since it is the main source of this operation.

Day 12

I have a total acquired amount of 12,938g 20s 92c. I want 2,061.791 gold to meet my personal of goal of obtaining 15,000 by Sunday. With how I am going, I think I will hit that mark.

My 10,000 gem hasn't sold yet. I've noticed over the years, that high priced items usually sell slowly. I'm not going anywhere. :)

I'd added more items to my (pipeline) sold items list that I made; a list that I made that provides all the items that I've sold over 3 times at consistent prices regardless of what prices they are at. I use this list to look to restock them by purchasing the items at the buy price, which is 50% of the price that they sold for, and re-listing them onto the auction house at the prices that I sold them previously at. I got the information in deciding what to put on my list from Beancounter, part of the Auctioneer suite. Any item that sold more than three times at a consistent price goes on the list.

This list is very helpful. Some of the  items on the list, I realized I listed for too low, so I am actually selling them for much higher than what they sold for previously. For example, Large Brilliant Shards which I was selling them at 9 gold, now I sell them at 16 gold. I, of course, have this list in Auctionator to make it easy for me to search on each item to find if I was undercut, to buy any cheap items, or/and to see if I can really sell the item at a much higher price than what I am listing them for.

In a way, this is like my pipeline list. So, I really have more than 10, up to 30 pipelines that I'm working. Too bad they do not sell at a fast rate because I would make more gold than I am now. However, I am doing well now. The weekend is coming up and I know I can stock up on many items to help with the week. I notice that the leathers tend to go pretty fast. Sometimes too fast. I had to adjust and sell them in stacks of 10 instead of 20 to make them last longer. At first, I thought that maybe they won't sell, but they are. For example, tonight I sold 5 stacks of 10 light leather when there where multiple stacks of 20 which were much cheaper than mine.

I did not level my shaman today. For some reason, I was tired today. I took a nap and really wasn't interested in leveling. I'll probably do that tomorrow since it is the beginning of the weekend and sells may slow a bit because everyone pretty much dump stuff onto the auction house for very cheap prices. I think I may need to create a guild bank this weekend or just send the extra items to my runners for storage.

Okay, I'm logging out now. Thank you for reading.

Day 11

I have total acquired amount of 10,713g 73s. I reached my end of the week 2 gold on day 2 of week 2! I am proud of myself. I am starting to see items in a new light. I can now tell if an item is listed for way too low of what the it is going for in the market. I'm very happy that I am at this point. I'm going to see if I can at least reach 15,000 by the end of week 2 (which is next Tuesday I believe).

Trade goods are doing great. I am locating rare recipes while I am leveling my shaman who is now level 44. I want to try to get to the level cap on my shaman by the end of the gold speed run. I would probably work on another month of this but I will see if I can beat my previous month's total. I am thinking about getting jewel crafting for my shaman, keeping mining, and dropping skinning. I am actually waiting to get to level 60 and wanting my new epic gem sells for 10k so I can send half to my main and start getting jewel crafting started.

Of course, all of this is just ideas. I am going to finish this project. I am going to continue to level up my shaman to level cap.

We will see what the future holds.

Day 10

I have acquired total: 7,853g 81s 01c. I'm almost at the goal of 10,000 gold for week 2. I found an new epic uncut gem for 1,000 gold. I put it up for 10,000 gold. It would be grand if it sales for that price!

The servers been down all day pretty much. I finally got on at 3:30 pm. This afternoon. I had almost 4,000 gold in my pockets, so I remember that I needed to put the gold to work. The goal is to acquire a certain amount of gold, not have on hand. Though, it would been nice to have it on hand also!

I pretty much bought all that I found to be discounts in almost every section of the auction house. I still have around 1234 gold in my pockets. I guess I'll keep that and see if I can find more deal tomorrow.

I did not feel like playing my shaman. I may stop playing her just to focus on only the auction house. We will see. Though it would be nice to have her level 60 so she could get flight training and go to the Outlands and get auctions. I may just do that. Even better, get her to aleast level 68-70 to go to Dalaran... On second thought, I will level my shaman. Nevermind :)

I have 26,620g 49s 17c in auctions right now!!

I'm logging off my banker tonight. I might get on my shaman or just log out completely.

That's all for this time.

Week 1 Round Up

Reminder of your goals for week 1:
§  Acquire 1,000 gold *COMPLETE
§  Create two gold-making alts (or network of alts) *COMPLETE
§  Get positioned at auction houses *COMPLETE
§  Set up your add-ons and start scanning the auction houses twice daily *COMPLETE
§  Begin active auction house trading by selling vendor goods *COMPLETE
§  Start assessing possible pipelines *COMPLETE

Check your successes
§  What targets have you reached and why?
    • I reached the goal of acquiring 1,000 gold because it was suggested by the Gold Speed Run guide. Also, acquiring over 5,000 gold!
    • Actually made gold on this server because the prices I have seen for the week have been horrendous.
    • I have my two bankers at Stormwind and Booty Bay. I have them there to play the auction house.
    • I have additional alts (runners) in each of the main capital cities to pick up any items that are selling consistently.
§  Which did you find easy?
    • Acquiring seed gold as I was able to farm light leather. Light leather turned out to be a huge seller and pipeline for me.
§  Where do you need to look again at the training?
    • Researching pipelines. This gold speed run is on an accelerated run so to really study the market the way it should be studied is close to impossible. I am finding that I have to take risks by testing many things to see if they could be pipelines. Only one item for the pipeline list of 10 actually turned out profitable and eventually turned into a pipeline for me (Purple Lotus). The other pipeline was due to me farming and noticing that they are selling consistently. Therefore, I bought more light leather and they are selling very well.
§  Are you still keeping track of your progress?
    • Yes, I have a note my progress with spreadsheets and notes. In addition to that, I keep a journal of my experience with this program in a blog that I update daily.

Check your failures
§  Your failures teach you more about the Pipeline Method than any successes.
§  If you are lucky, your failures will be theoretical: pipelines you research with your addons and progress notes.
§  Even practical failures, where you make a small gold loss should be considered an investment in training, rather than a waste of time.
§  Did you learn something about the stack size to post, or did you learn that there is another source to the item you have overlooked?
    • Yes, I followed the suggested stack sizes items for herbs, specialized herbs, gems, for example, and they turned profitable. However, some items were way over populated in the auction house. Therefore, I created different stack sizes to differentiate my posts from others and it turned successful.
§  What demand is there for your pipeline?
    • For the two pipelines that I found, the demand is steady. They sell several times a day. I wish I can find more that will do the same. I would be bringing in much more funds. Nothing that I have seen so far on the auction house sold right away. There are no high demand items at the level that I am at. I am sure it is different on the higher end with epic cut gems, and weapons, gears.
§  Could your failed item actually work at a different time of day, or week?
    • Yes, I have seen items sell better on the weekdays than the weekends and I have seen the opposite being true too.
    • This week has been the new patch 4.3, so it seems like the attention is on higher level items as people are in raids mostly. It really made things more up in the air, especially when most of the add-ons stopped working. I lost 3 days’ worth of data.
    • Some items just are a lost cause.
§  Do you simply need more experience?
    • Of course, this is my first gold speed run and first time actually using the massive gold blueprint in the game.
§  So don’t be afraid of what seem like failures, they’re essential for your training.

Day 9

Well, today is the end of week 1. I have acquired total of 7025g 35s 50c on all the characters that I’m banking with. I almost beat week 2’s total and I haven’t started it yet.

What I’ve done today:
  •   Posted new items and expired items
  •      Learned new glyph on my banker (only making learned glyphs from research)
  •  Leveled leveling character to level 36
  •  Watched more videos from the Gold Speed Run website and took notes
  •  Read the MGB Forums about the status of the speed run
  •  Made groups for pipelines (light leather, purple lotus, and enchanting vellium)
  •  Made groups for other items to make posting and undercutting quicker

Overall, I completed my first week and I am very satisfied with the results. I completed by weekly review and will include it after this blog post.

Three more weeks left!

Day 8

Today is Day 8 for me. The total amount that I acquired overall now on my banker is at 5,396g 22s 05c (this is not including my Booty Bay Banker that I really need to start including).

What I've done today:

  1. researched more pipelines, found 3 proven pipelines :)
  2. dump watched items that were not volatile
  3. leveled main character to level 30
  4. made a routine to do list to help me cut down time I spend in the auction house
I've done well today. Tomorrow is the end of week 1 of the Gold Speed Run for me. It is the end of week 2 for the participants of the live Gold Speed Run.

I have my review tomorrow to see what I need to work on and what is working for me. I can tell you one thing I am learning is patience.

Day 7

Today, I acquired 3,384g 87s 34c total on my main alt today. I done mostly research today on items that could be potential pipelines on my server. I'm watching 22 items so far. I used TUJ to look at data from two weeks ago to help me find test sell/buy prices for those items. I made a spreadsheet and had it printed out for my reference. I'm testing all of them; I will see how it goes.

I found out I'm on the best sellers list on TUJ! I finally got on there after 6 days of selling stuff.

I am still leveling my Elemental Shaman. I am level 22 and catching up on skinning and mining. I am selling items on her as she has around 230g on her. I do not know if I should include her stuff with my main stuff. Maybe I will soon before she ventures off into areas that will make it difficult for her to get back to on of the 4 capital cities on the alliance side. Besides, it does make it easier for me to keep tabs on what I am bringing in financially.

It's going on eight pm and I'm about to log back into the game. I scanned the last time at 6pm. Now, I'm just will play my shaman and get up leveled some more.

Thank you for reading!

Day 6

Today, I got my shaman (decided to level up a shaman after all instead of the hunter) to level 20.

I acquired today a total of 2,368g 3s today. The Stormwind cooking recipes finally sold in Booty Bay! I have a total of acquired gold of 134g 34s 92c on my Booty Bay alt. A lot of light leather, copper bar, clam meat, and items I bought for a low price and resold based on the TUJ Great Deals information sold today.

I noticed several things about this server. One, this server is older, which means that they have more level capped people than new people. That seems to be why trade good items are selling much better than the limited and unlimited vendor items. However, I did find that three vendor items (enchanting vellum in stacks of 20 that I have been selling for 48g, Primal Might and Elixir of Camouflage recipes are selling constantly).

Second, it seems higher level items are in demand than low level items. For example, gems, enchants, new epic weapons and gear.

Third, don't waste my time on recipes that are over-flooded in the auction house. I have seen multiple bankers from other people that still playing on working on recipes that has more than 20 listed items that are lower than 2g! To me that is wasted effort. Sure you can start with selling this items but selling these items (talking about limited and unlimited vendor items that have so much competition that it isn't worth even worrying about) is wasting money due to the fact that their are 5 different characters listing Stormwind cooking recipes for less than 20 silver. I have some up because I wanted to see if they actually are serious in selling these recipes at low prices. And let me tell you, they are! Come on, I hate seeing people waste their time. I mean, the prices that are listed on my server for the Stormwind cooking recipes are below the vendor price to buy them!?? I don't understand, but I am going to keep posting them just to experiment why these people are posting these items so low. I just curious. I have a bunch that aren't selling unless I post them for 50c each :)

I will start researching the watched pipelines since the scan information is saving to see which ones are volatile. I will need to start adding new items to Market Watcher to start watching.  I believe in Day 8 I need to start selecting a few volatile pipelines and start testing.

Anyway, I am very tired so I am going to head to bed. Goodnight all.

Day 5

It's day five and I've acquired 924g 60s 2c! I'm only 75.3998g (75g 39s 98c) from 1000, meeting my goal. I think I may achieve that tomorrow morning depending on the sells tonight. I will log-in after 9pm after I finish leveling my character a little bit.

Almost at 1,000 gold, 4 days early!

What is helping a lot is the items that have been selling like light leather and items that I bought and resold for a profit (Thank You TUJ "Great Deals").

I managed to download a beta version of Auctioneer that works very well and Market Watcher. I have to now scan to build up the database. I am using mainly TUJ and still writing data for the watched items.

I was leveling a shaman but I later deleted it and made a new hunter to level up. I bought some bags and got skinning and mining as a profession for her. I am enjoying myself leveling my new character.

Everything is going well, I am surprised that I am making sales like I am on this server where unlimited and limited items are not producing much profit, but trade skill items are doing very well (well at least leather and bars).

Acquired goal of 1,000g in week 1

**Update**
I logged back in and realized I had mail. Well, I made it to acquiring 1,000 gold! I met my gold by the end of the week (which is 9 days). I am so happy that I done it. I just need to keep at it.

I will level my character up some more tonight and log for the day.
